Artist Statement
The self is something that emanates. My work studies and explores people's authentic selves. Exploring and investigating the human condition is what excites me. Sharing the complexities of the human character in both controlled, as well as less controlled environments, frames the scenes I choose to capture. I believe both circumstances are revealing in their own way.
The endeavor of working with color is my drive and motivation within my daily studio practice. I've spent years learning my materials so that I can best utilize and manipulate them so that the paint can be a tool to allow me to show others the world through my eyes.
I've been inspired by the complexity of color in our world. Trying to capture the color relationships that are relative to any given situation or circumstance is a never-ending, energizing and gratifying adventure.
